👨‍💻 About Me.

The observant types amongst you will already know that my name is John Beardon.

I'm a middle-aged bloke from Somerset, UK. I spent most of my working life in senior IT roles until 2024, when I decided to step away from that high-pressure environment.

Today, alongside my long-suffering wife, I run a home-based 3D printing business. We specialise in producing tablet wall mounts and other home automation products.

I live in a quiet village in Somerset, just a few miles from the County Town of Taunton, and I love the peaceful surroundings.

🛠 Hobbies & Passions

In my spare time, I love designing, 3D printing, making, and hacking stuff. I am also a passionate amateur photographer, a hobby that has been part of my life since my early teens.

More recently, I've become an avid home automation enthusiast and a big fan of Home Assistant. There is a distinct crossover between my backgrounds in IT, making/hacking, and home automation, and I get a great deal of satisfaction designing and creating 'things' that can be seamlessly integrated.

When I need a break from it all, I love to annoy other road users by towing our touring caravan down to Cornwall to chill out. These visits aren't frequent enough, but we get there when we can. (Naturally, a bit of photography is involved!)
